Yey! I really love this quote too.

I love quotes. I’ve been posting them on my room, my facebook, my twitter, so I decided to put them all in one entry. Here are some of the quotes I’ve collected so far. I will add more quotes here because I just like collecting lots of quotes.

Ever since I came back from America, a renewed sense of appreciation for the Philippines swept over me. I did not only pay attention to the celebrated parts of our culture, exalted through the creations of famous artists, but I also began to love the ordinary parts of Philippine life.

Little Annika

My cousin Annika was a very makulit kid. Her mother enrolled her in a gymnastics class, but she didn’t like it. Every session, she would run away from the gym, and her poor teacher had to chase after her or else she might hit the streets and get run over by a car.

Back in Miriam Grade School, vandalism was a popular way of expressing teenybopper angst. One bathroom door was inked with angry scrawls saying, “Ms. Luque, mukhang puke.” When I saw this, I burst out laughing. I did feel a little bad for laughing when Anna told me that she heard that Ms. Luque cried when she saw the vandalism.

Ever wonder why Gawad Kalinga houses are so colorful? Wonder why MMDA loves to paint the town pink? I always thought that maybe Philippine aesthetic is simply attuned to colorful stuff, but there can also be a practical incentive for these colorful choices.
