When I was still in school, there’d always be terror teachers who felt proud whenever more than half the class would fail the long tests, and I’m like I don’t get it. Aren’t you supposed to be teaching? Aren’t the students supposed to be learning? Students aren’t here to simply feed your ego by making you feel like you are smarter than they are.
I don’t know where this kind of thinking came from. Why do these adults even think that this is logical? I want to be a teacher someday, and I want to make a difference in someone else’s life. I want to be the reason why somebody finally understood something. I want to be the reason why someone who wasn’t that good became great. I think that’s the mark of a real teacher–a person who creates a generation of geniuses.
