Background of the song:

When I was 13 years old, I had an idea for a short story, and that was the inspiration for this song. It starts in a kingdom where there twin princesses who were around 5 years old (I think I was obsessed with twins because of Sweet Valley and Parent Trap). One princess was nice and the other was bratty. One day, the evil witch and her army attacked the castle, so the royal family had to escape. They took a cart but the nice princess fell off from the cart. The cart was still charging forward amidst the burning kingdom and the nice princess was running after the cart and the royal family members were trying to get her hand to pull her into the cart. Then the witch appeared and took the nice princess. Both the witch and the nice princess disappeared in a cloud of smoke. Eventually, the royal family was able to take the castle back from the witch, but they weren’t able to find the nice princess and they weren’t able to jail the witch.

The bratty princess grew up in the shadow of her twin, who everyone now presumes is dead. She can never live up to her saintly sister and she becomes bitter but unable to change her situation. However, the bratty princess has everything that she desires and is doted and attended upon by the King and Queen, so everyone assumes that the bratty princess has no right to be miserable. At this point, all of the allies of the witch have been apprehended and jailed, yet there is still no trace of the witch.

One day, a young woman who looks like the bratty princess enters the castle and says that she’s the nice princess, and how she’s been locked up by the witch for years, but she has finally escaped. Everyone is so happy, except the bratty princess. Everyone assumes that the bratty princess is just jealous because she lost her pride of place in the kingdom, something that she did not deserve in the first place, and which originally belonged to her nice sister. Everyone is fawning over the nice princess and she acts as generously and as kindly as they remember her to be. However, when the nice princess is with the bratty princess, the nice princess reveals that she is evil. The bratty princess can’t get people to believe her that the nice princess is actually evil because they all hate the bratty princess. The twist is the nice princess had been dead ever since she was captured by the witch and the one presenting as the nice princess is actually the witch in disguise, attempting to infiltrate the kingdom one more time.

So how is that story related to my song? I don’t remember anymore if this was supposed to be like the soundtrack to that story if ever it became a movie, but it was supposed to be from the perspective of the evil princess disguised as a nice princess. I’m not sure if the nice princess has a love interest in the story. Maybe the lover of the bratty princess was falling for the evil/nice princess? Then the evil/nice princess is telling that man to not be deceived by what she seems like. She won’t be literally saying that to him, but that’s her internal monologue. Oooh, puwede pala itong maging musical. Anyway, another possibility is maybe I just turned it into a love song because when I was young I thought that if you had to write a song, it had to be a love song.
