Step on Me and You Shall Bleed (Poem)

(Written when I was 16 years old)

I may be within the shadows
Of this lonely pit
I may be so enclosed
Decaying bit by bit
But my honor still exists
Even if weakness has its lead
I cry out through the blinding mists
Step on me and you shall bleed

I may be undesirable
Deformed by sorrow beyond recognition
I may be invisible
Melted by the walls of depression
But my dignity is present still
Even if vulnerability imprisons me
I scream so my voice will eternity fill
Step on me and you shall bleed

So step on me and you shall bleed
Stab my heart; the blade you’ll feel
Murder me; you shall be killed
Yes, step on me, I long to see you bleed
