Ever since my mother had a mild stroke, I decided to eat more healthy. Before this, I thought our diet was good, but now that we re-examined our eating habits, we realized that we eat a lot of cholesterol-heavy food.
Ma and I have a couple of favorite restaurants that we always go back to, but the funny thing about our regular returns is we always order the same dish. Like we have one favorite dish per restaurant, and whenever we go back to that restaurant, we don’t try something new, we just get what we ordered before.
For example, in Teriyaki Boy, I always order the tuna tartare with extra rice. In Pancake House, I order the banana caramel waffle. In Burger King, I get the whopper jr. Yet we never get bored because we change it up by going from one restaurant to the other. But it is weird. I know.

The dilemma–you cooked too much spaghetti sauce, and you are out of spaghetti noodles. What do you do? Usually, I slice a piece of pandesal, spread spaghetti sauce on each half, add some slices of Quickmelt cheese, then I heat it up in the toaster. My cousin Juancho doesn’t do this. He prefers to put the sauce on top of rice. I thought this was weird; he thought this was totally normal.
My mom found a way to fry an egg by using the oven toaster. Here’s how she does it.
